Consistent branding can help your business

Simple concepts can be very powerful. This is especially true with the idea of brand consistency.

For starters — what is a brand? I often describe this as the personality of your organization. Graphic designers establish what this personality looks like through the use of colors, typefaces, photography styles, grids and a tone of voice. All of these design elements make up a visual identity system.

For a brand to be effective, it must be clear, concise and consistent. If you reviewed all of your marketing collateral (print and web), would they be similar? They should look like they all stem from the same family.

There are many benefits to having a consistent brand:

Recognition
A consistent design program makes your company look confident, organized and stable.

Credibility
As your brand becomes more recognizable, it improves your credibility as an organization.

Speed and Savings
Creating a solid design system takes time, yet once the initial brand standards are established, future design projects move faster. This saves you time and money.

And remember. Having a consistent brand does not mean that every design solution is boring and redundant. You can still be creative within defined parameters!
